Sensor Status change as an event

Postby WitteGeek402 » Sun Oct 04, 2015 12:30 am

Hello. Is there a way to use the status change of an insteon sensor as a cue for an event?
For example, when the garage door opens I want to cue an event.

Thanks for the help.

Yes - First Reverse link the device to your Insteon Modem.

Then under the Insteon Programs / Event Programs select the device (Garage Door), what command you want it to process (On or Off) (Translates to Open or Closed), the scene you want it to execute, days, push notification, and enabled. If you simply want a push notification you can leave the scene as None and simply check the push notification box. Every time the door is opened you will get a push notification and or a scene will run.

Below is a example for a Gate and a Garage Door. The door has no scene but the gate will turn on all the flood lights and porch light for 5 minutes (if it is dark), an interior light (always) for 1 minute (notifies occupants someone is arriving). I have included the scene below also.

Hope this helps!

Scene Text
Cabinet Ceiling Cans,ON,NONE,AD0:01
Flood Lights,ON,+SS0:30&-SR00:30,CD0:05
Front Porch Light,ON,+SS0:30&-SR00:30,CD0:05
Front Gate,NONE,NONE,AD0:03
